Hi everyone. Okay i am hoping to be a really great film maker when i am older and all that, and i'm having trouble starting out making films. I'm only 16 and don't have alot of money or anything good to use but i muck around with the camera with my friends a bit. Anyway i am just wondering if someone can help me out with where to start and how to get noticed and that.
Well anyway thats all

Woah, thats jumping the gun a little in my view.
I suggest you buy a tripod. Write a short script. Go out and film. Edit it. Show it to friends and family and see what their response is. See if they understood it etc.
Then start worrying about film festivals I've been filming for five years now and I still haven't entered anything into any film festivals, theres no rush.

Yes i have writen sccripts and filmed and that and seen what people think. That is why i was asking about it. I was going to enter a competition last year but we missed the deadline. then there was another competition i was going to enter but i was on exchange at the time so couldn't submit it.

Sounds like you're looking for an easy answer. No such thing. Just keep working at it. Make mistakes. Finding out the hard way is the best way.
But showing it to friends and family is a waste of time. They will only tell you what you want to hear.
Show us your scripts. We are complete strangers and therefore, have no need to spare your feelings. There is no friendship at stake.

Okay well i have some of my very first scripts that i wrote on my computer but they aren't very good. I am writing a new one now and the script for the one we were going to enter in the competions is on my friends computer i think.
Well i can email you this new script when i have finished it. You can look at my first scripts to if you want. I've been looking for someone who will tell me the truth about my work so it would be good if you could tell me what you think of them.

Do not email it to me. Post it here for everyone else to see. You need as many stranger's opinions as you can get.
But if I were you I'd give it another polishing before doing so. If the grammar and sentence structure of your posts are any indication of the script - you're in trouble.
And brace yourself for the worst. Just don't take it personal.

There is no 'truth' -- only (popular) opinion. Don't be put off by other people's opinions, and don't let them inflate your ego either!

contests? Film school? Festifals? Participate in things like that. If you're good you'll get noticed.

Keep a notepad and a box.
When the notepad is full it goes into the box.
When the box is full it is dated from to and put in a safe place after it has been sprayed lightly with Lysol. and the process starts over again until the world runs out of paper or your pen runs out of ink.
At least some of the notes should concern ways of generating federal or private foundation grant money, should you ever decide to go back and read your notes.
What you decide to denotate is up to you
